Getting Close!

Driving up from downstate DE on Sunday I noticed a lot of the ponds are starting to thaw out and just have small areas of skim ice on them. This is great news and means it is almost time to get out there and do some fishing. I love freshwater pond fishing early in the season and with warmer weather forecasted for the next couple weeks I hope it clears off any remaining ice and warms the water temps a few degrees to get those bass, pickeral and crappies biting.

We are planing to film a couple fishing videos during this early season. One will focus on early season bass and pickeral while another will focus on trolling for crappies. They are going to be a lot of fun so stay tuned!

Also the weekly fishing report will be back starting in March. Trout season is fast approaching and as I've said above anglers hitting the freshwater ponds and lakes will be out in force soon. Some boats will start sailing for cod, tog and stripers when the weather allows. If you have any early season reports or pictures please send them to me at dtmasportsman@yahoo.com and I will share them with my readers!

Thank you!

Dave
