Muff Diver - 2/2/2015
Well that was one heck of a game. Great Super Bowl. You know that Coach Carroll will be kicking himself in the butt for making that call. No way NE could have keep M Lynch out of the end zone. Now that the SB is behind us, it is time to start focusing on the really important things – like fishing and getting your trip set up.
I am starting to work on the boat for the 2015 season. Got lots of stuff to do – new line, go over the reels to insure good working order, go over the rigs and re-rig those that need it and the list goes on and on.
I have been very fortunate to have booked the 2015 WMO Tournament. The lead angler for the WMO and his son would like to fish the 2015 Tuna Tournament and has asked me to see if I can fill the other 4 spots. The dates are July 10th to 12th with registration and the captains meeting being held at the OCFC Thursday evening July 9th. If there are any interested anglers please call me at 800-243-0342 or reply to this email at fishing@godeepsportfishing.com.
I am also looking for anglers that would like to fish the Talbot Street Pier 2nd Annual Big Fish Classic Tournament. It is a 2 day event (32 hours of fishing) – overnight event. We get to pick either Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday. We would have to take a good look at the weather before committing to one or the other set of days. As of now the whole boat is open for a group of 6 anglers.
I would like to mention again that I am promoting the 24 hour overnight type of trips. They are a great value to the customer and I really do enjoy them as they give us a lot of prime fishing time. Much more bang for the buck. Goes something like this: Leave the dock around 11am, run out to the canyon (or wherever the fish are biting), troll around for a while or deep drop for Tilefish. Maybe, if the dolphin fish are available, fish for dolphin. We will want to be in the trolling mode come 6pm as that is when the good Big Eye Tuna bite may develop – from 6pm to 10pm or so. After that we would start to chunk for Yellowfin Tuna or chum for Shark – one or the other - as they both do not play well together. In the early am (4am) we would again go back to trolling for the Big Eye and Yellowfin Tuna bite. We will pack it up between 8am to 9am and head to the docks. We should arrive between 11am and noon. Get your fish cleaned and be on your way. The cost is only $600 per person (including tip) and you will get 18 hours of fishing time instead of 6 or 7 during a regular 12 hour day trip ($420 per person including tip). Fishing this way also saves you on a motel bill – the boat is your room for the night. This is a great value for those of you that truly enjoy fishing and have the time and energy for a 24 hour trip.
