Fishing Info! - New 2012 DE Tog Regulations

Listed below are the new tautog regulations in DE for the 2012 season. As you can see the minimum size has increased and the total number of days to fish for them has decreased. I have posted the 2011 regulations for a reference to the changes.



2012 DE Tautog Regulations                                                              
   
Minimum Size - 16 inches all year
Jan 1 - March 31 = 5 Fish per person                                                        
April 1 - May 11 = 3  Fish per person 
July 17 - Aug 31 = 5 Fish per person  
Sept 29 - Dec 31 =  Fish per person   

Season closed = May 12 - July 16 and Sept 1 -28


2011 DE Tautog Regulations

April 1 - May 11, Minimum Size - 15 inches = 3 Fish per person

July 1 - Aug. 31, Minimum Size - 14 inches = 10 Fish per person
Sept. 29 - Mar 31, Minimum Size - 14 inches  = 10 Fish per person

Season closed = May 12 - June 30 and Sept 1 - 28

I personally am a little disapointed in the new regulations. I believe the Tautog population in DE waters is healthy and these changes were not necessary.
