This is a recipe I made up last night. I was in the mood for chinese dumplings yesterday and remembered all of the ground venison in the freezer, so I decided to try and make my own. I used pre-made wonton wrappers and it was pretty easy and tasted great.
Filling Ingredients:
1 Pound of Ground Venison
1/2 Cup of Green Onions (Minced)
3 Tbl Garlic (I used canned, chopped fresh would be good too)
1/4 Cup of Soy Sauce
2 Tsp Sesame Oil
1 Tbl Olive Oil
Brown the ground venison in the olive oil. Add onions, and garlic. Once the venison is brown add soy sauce and sesame oil and cook for 5 minutes or until meat is fully cooked. Let mixture cool.
Once cool spoon 1 tbl of mixture into each wonton wrapper. For this much meat you can probably make about 50 wontons, so if you want or need less or more cut down or bump up the filling ingredient quantities. Use an egg wash around the edges of the wonton wrappers. Fold them over and seal tightly. When ready to cook heat a pan with vegetable oil to about 360 degrees. I shallow fried them and they only took about 1 minute a side to cook and they should come out nice and golden brown.
Dipping Sauce Ingredients:
1 Cup Soy Sauce
4 Tbl Honey
1/4 Cup Green Onions (Chopped)
1 Tbl Garlic
1 Tsp Sesame Oil
Ground Black Pepper
To make the dipping sauce just wisk the honey into the soy sauce until fully incorporated. Add the rest of the ingredients and let sit in the fridge for atleast and hour or two.
Sit down and enjoy!
