The following fishing report is from Captain Adam Crouthamel of Adam Bomb Sport Fishing. Adam fishes the inshore waters around Cape May, NJ year round. He targets stripers, flounder, tog, sea bass, drum, cod and all other inshore species found around Cape May. I have personally fished with Adam multiple times and each trip was outstanding. Hello
everyone! Aboard with us today was Jim Munizza for this charter with Jim, Mike,
Mike, and John. I expected the fishing to continue to build on the results we
had yesterday, but as it is with fishing, what you don't expect is what usually
happens. Getting to the area we fished yesterday, I didn't see the bait or fish
marks. Seeing some scratches, we put the anchor down and had a few fish go under
the boat, but they didn't bite. We decided to look around and set up on a couple
scratches a few miles to the west. Nothing doing after 45 minutes, so we made
another move tight to the beach. We marked a good amount of life here, but they
weren't biting. Frustrated, we moved back just north of where we fished
yesterday. 3 minutes on the hook, and Mike sets up on a fish...a few minutes
later a 34" bass is on deck.
Just
after that, we missed another. We thought it would get going, but that was all
she wrote. Honestly, from what I heard on the VHF, we were lucky to have a fish
in the boat! They will get going soon...I just want them to hurry up!
